Before dawn May 30, Goldsboro police Officer Stacey Hatcher said she saw a speeding car going east on the U.S. 70 bypass after it had collided with a tractor-trailer. Ms. Hatcher pursued the car, but the driver turned around at Oak Forest Road and sped west before losing control of the auto. The auto ran off the right side, hit an embankment, went airborne over a guard rail, hit an upgrade, smashed through the south side of the building and landed on its tires on the display room floor. The store had to be closed until repairs were made.
