In the true spirit of Christmas, students at Eastern Wayne Middle School collected $1,202.22 for the Empty Stocking Fund, putting the charity over its $33,000 goal.
Enough money has been received to provide 610 less-fortunate children with a new toy, an outfit of new clothes and a stocking filled with treats.
The children will receive the gifts at the annual party on Saturday morning.
