Drug charges
Three Goldsboro men were arrested Tuesday by the Aggressive Criminal Enforcement Team of the Wayne County Sheriff's Office and charged with felony possession with intent to sell and deliver marijuana.
Demoreo Maurice Edwards, 25, of South Andrews Avenue and Brandon Oates, 23, of Seymour Drive were arrested on Courtyard Circle. Each was placed in the Wayne County Jail in lieu of a $5,000 secured bond.
Farron McLamb, 23, of Faith Place was arrested at Olivia Lane and Hugh Street. He was jailed in lieu of a $3,000 secured bond.
Man wanted
Sutton
A 23-year-old man from the Dollard Town Road area is wanted by the Wayne County Sheriff's Office on charges about several break-ins.
Larinsky Demon "PacMan" Sutton was described as being black, 5-feet-11 and 130 pounds with black hair and brown eyes. He should be considered as armed and dangerous, detectives said.
Anyone with information on Sutton's location was asked to call the Sheriff's Office at 731-1481 or Goldsboro-Wayne County Crime Stoppers at 735-2255. Callers may remain anonymous, and they may be eligible for a cash reward.
Scam alert
Several Wayne County residents have been notified that they have won the El Gordo Sweepstakes in Madrid, Spain, law-enforcement officials say.
Wayne County Sheriff Carey Winders emphasized that this sweepstakes "is a scam. If you respond, you are setting yourself up for complete bankruptcy."
Winders urged residents to disregard the notice or email messages and reminded them that if they did not enter, they cannot win.
Collisions
Damage was estimated at $20,600 in three recent traffic collisions in Wayne County, officers reported.
*Damage was estimated at $5,250 in a two-vehicle collision at 5:28 p.m. Tuesday on West Grantham Street near the city limits, Goldsboro police said. One driver, Deborah Frances Outland, 48, of Green Drive, was charged with failure to reduce speed after the rear-end collision. The other eastbound driver was identified as Curtis Ray Wallace, 49, of Dollard Town Road.
*A chain-reaction, three-vehicle collision resulted in $3,350 worth of damages at 5:32 p.m. Tuesday on North Berkeley Boulevard at the entrance to the McDonalds fast-food restaurant. One driver, Vicky F. Warrick, 42, of Challis Drive, Fremont, was charged with failure to reduce speed. The other motorists were identified as John J. Nichols, 35, of Duff Driveand Kerrie Anne Stancill, 23, of North Spence Avenue.
*A driver escaped serious injury at 10:02 p.m. Thursday when her sport utility vehicle ran off the right side of Genoa Road, struck a ditch and overturned near Old Mount Olive Road, the Highway Patrol said. Debbie Denise Johnson, 32, of Nancy Drive, Dudley, was not charged. But the SUV, valued at $12,000, was demolished.
Investigations
Wayne County sheriff's deputies are investigating these reports:
*Jewelry, two shotguns and about $600 were stolen Tuesday from a home in the 100 block of Annie's Avenue, sheriff's deputies said. The thief had forced open a door to get inside. One resident, Robbie Johnson, reported the theft of the two shotguns, the money, a video-game system and three bracelets with a combined value of $1,030. Another resident, Charletta Strickland, reported the theft of a watch, five rings, two bracelets and checks with a combined value of $1,815.
*A compound bow, two rifles and a shotgun were stolen between Nov. 24 and dawn today after a door was damaged at an apartment in the 100 block of Scott Hill Drive, deputies said. The resident, Simon Joseph Wess, estimated the value of the stolen property at $1,650 and damage at $75.
Cars damaged
Two unlocked vehicles at Adamsville Auto Sales at 209 S. Berkeley Blvd. were damaged between Friday and Tuesday during break-ins, Goldsboro police reports said.
A dashboard on a Ford Explorer was damaged, and the compact disc player and radio combination was stolen. The stolen property was valued at $400, and damage was set at $100.
A back window and the compact disc player on a 1994 Ford Ranger also were damaged, but nothing was stolen, police said. Damages were estimated at $300.
