CALYPSO -- Dick Lewis has resigned from the Calypso town board.
Lewis was elected to the town board in November 2003 following a two terms as mayor. He could not be reached for comment this week. Last week, he resigned during a closed session at the town board meeting.
Mayor Tom Reaves said Lewis has been busy at Princeton United Methodist Church where he will be the new pastor. He said Lewis will move in December to Princeton.
Lewis shocked the board Nov. 1 when he announced he was resigning. Reaves said he hasn't spoken to the board members yet to find out whether they want to appoint someone him or leave the seat vacant until the November 2005 election.
