Arrested thrice
Two men were arrested for a third time in about four months by the Goldsboro-Wayne County Drug Squad and charged with a felony drug offense in their home.
Antoine Lamar Silvers, 20, and Alajahwan Silvers, 17, both of Worrell's Mobile Home Park off North Berkeley Boulevard, were charged with possession with intent to sell cocaine and misdemeanor possession of marijuana. Each was placed in the Wayne County Jail in lieu of a $10,000 secured bond.
The two defendants also were arrested July 7 and July 14 by the drug squad on felony cocaine charges. Those cases have not been heard in Superior Court.
Another Goldsboro resident also was arrested by Goldsboro police and charged with felony possession of cocaine. Tonisa Shanta Alston, 24, of Lincoln Drive was released from custody on a $2,000 unsecured bond.
Man caught on tape
PRINCETON -- An 18-year-old man, who was shown on videotape trying to pawn stolen property, was arrested Saturday night by Princeton police and charged with two felony offenses, police said.
Darrelly Lorenzo Toler of Everette Street, Princeton, was charged with breaking and entering and larceny. Toler was accused of stealing a heater, a television and a video-game system from a home in the 400 block of South Pine Street.
Police Chief Eddie Lewis said Toler was videotaped at pawn shops in Selma and Smithfield. Toler was placed in the Johnston County Jail in Smithfield in lieu of a $20,000 secured bond.
Crime of the Week
A home invasion on Smith Chapel Road in Mount Olive has been chosen by Goldsboro-Wayne County Crime Stoppers as its latest "Crime of the Week."
The residents, both in their 60s, were asleep at about 3 a.m. Oct. 23, when two men barged through the back door. One intruder struck the man repeatedly with a vase and a gun barrel. The woman was pushed down and injured. The intruders then stole cash, shotguns and rifles.
The suspects were described as being black, 5-foot-6 to 5-10 and 170 to 175 pounds, and they wore dark clothes. One wore a black ski mask with a white skull, and the other wore a black ski mask with a red ring around the top.
Anyone with information on this home invasion and assault or any other crime in Wayne County was asked to call Crime Stoppers at 735-2255. Callers may remain anonymous, and they may be eligible for cash rewards of up to $1,000, if their information leads to arrests in felony cases.
Princeton chase
PRINCETON -- A 19-year-old man faces a felony and six misdemeanor charges after he was chased by Princeton police and captured in Wayne County.
David Brian Holt of Grady Road, Princeton, was charged Friday night with felony speeding to elude arrest, possession of marijuana, failure to heed blue lights or a siren, driving while his license was revoked, reckless driving, speeding and fictitious registration.
After Holt was stopped on Community Drive in Rosewood, Wayne County sheriff's deputies and a search dog assisted in the arrest, Princeton Police Chief Eddie Lewis said.
Holt was placed in the Johnston County Jail in Smithfield in lieu of a $23,500 secured bond.
Shooting
A 27-year-old man from Dudley was arrested Monday night by Goldsboro police and charged with six felony offenses in connection with a shooting.
Alan Royce Grady of Alert Cable Road was charged with four counts of discharge of a weapon into occupied property and one count each of assault with a deadly weapon with intent to kill while inflicting serious injury and assault with a deadly weapon with intent to kill. He was placed in the Wayne County Jail in lieu of a $150,000 secured bond.
Grady was accused of shooting into a car Oct. 8 on Carriage Drive and injuring a passenger. Jessica K. Lamp, 18, of Goldsboro was treated and released from Wayne Memorial Hospital, a spokeswoman said.
The driver of the car Ms. Lamp was in, Randy A. Johnson, 20, of Mount Olive, and two other passengers were not injured.
Stolen car found
A traffic collision in Cumberland County has led to the arrest of a Dudley teen-ager who was charged by the Wayne County Sheriff's Office with theft of the vehicle.
William Christopher Hicks, 16, of Waldrop Road was accused of breaking into a home in Dudley and stealing property in addition to the vehicle, Detective Sgt. Ray Brogden said.
Hicks was charged with three felonies -- breaking and entering, vehicle larceny and larceny. He was placed in the Wayne County Jail in lieu of a $10,000 secured bond. Lt. Tom Effler assisted in the investigation.
Thefts
Goldsboro police are investigating these reports:
*Clothing, shoes, a laptop computer, a handgun and a cell phone with a charger were stolen Monday from a car in the 1000 block of Lincoln Drive, police said. The owner, Charles Eugene Segers of Killeen, Texas, put a $3,838 value on his property.
*A computer, a ladder and tools were stolen between Sunday and Monday from Darden Christian Academy at 307 S. Center St., police said. The computer, valued at $1,500, was owned by Carl Darden. The tools, valued at $90, were owned by John Darden. The school's ladder was worth $69.
*A video game was stolen Monday after a door was damaged at an apartment in the 500 block of Courtyard Circle, police said. The resident, Tameka Alexander, said the game was worth $65. Damage was set at $100.
Investigations
Wayne County sheriff's deputies are investigating these reports:
*A boat, motor and trailer were stolen between June 4 and Monday from a home in the 2500 block of Arrington Bridge Road, sheriff's deputies said. The owner, Calvin Bynum of Albany, N.Y., said his property was worth $3,500.
*A pocketbook, with two payroll checks totaling $2,207, $20 in cash, a wallet, blank checks and personal papers, was stolen between Sunday and Monday from an unlocked vehicle in the 100 block of Sleepy Creek Drive, deputies said. The resident, Deanea Morris, put a $150 value on the other property.
