Eureka parade
The Eureka Christmas Parade Committee is accepting entries for its Sunday, Dec. 12, parade.
Lineup is at 2:30 p.m.; the parade begins at 3 in front of the Eureka United Methodist Church at 128 N. Church St. Entry fee is canned food, which will be given to needy families in the community.
People can register through Saturday, Dec. 11. Information: 738-6484 or 242-5064.
Spay and neuter clinic
The Wayne County Humane Society will conduct its low-cost spay and neuter clinic on Saturday from 10 a.m. until noon at the Wayne County Public Library.
The clinic is an application process to offer financial help to low- and fixed-income families. To apply, people need to bring proof of income.
Night hike
Cliffs of the Neuse State Park will present "From Dusk Till Dark," a night hike, beginning at 6 p.m. on Saturday.
Participants should meet at the museum for the evening stroll and should wear good walking shoes. Insect repellent is suggested.
Reservations can be made and more information obtained by calling the park office at 778-6234, Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. until 5 p.m.
Pig wrap-up
The Arts Council of Wayne County will wrap up its two-year "When Pigs Fly" public art and fund-raising project with a gala party Saturday, Oct. 30, at the art center.
The party begins at 7 p.m. and costs $60 a person. There will be a cocktail buffet and performance by the Middle Street News Jazz Band from New Bern. Attire is coat and tie.

Bloodmobile
The Wayne County Chapter of the American Red Cross will have a Bloodmobile on Thursday from 9 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. at Wayne Community College and from 2 to 6:30 p.m. at the chapter house, 600 N. George St., by appointment only by calling 735-7201.
