Drug arrests
Five people were arrested Monday by the Goldsboro-Wayne County Drug Squad at a Goldsboro motel and charged with felony drug offenses.
Jondre Terrell Spencer, 25, and Abraham Aaron Forte, 23, both of Crossbow Drive, Pikeville, and Terrell Mack Edwards, 25, of Peacock Street, Fremont, were charged with possession with intent to sell marijuana and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon. Each man was placed in the Wayne County Jail in lieu of a $30,000 secured bond.
Shonta Sherelle Edwards, 18, of North William Street and Precious Ebony Jenkins, 20, of Courtyard Circle also were charged with possession with intent to sell marijuana. Each was jailed in lieu of a $15,000 secured bond. Officers seized about 20 grams of marijuana during the raid.
Three hurt in wrecks
*An eastbound motorcyclist swerved off the right side to miss an oncoming, westbound car that was passing a tractor-trailer and his bike toppled over, the Highway Patrol said. Robert Lafayette Wallace Jr., 35, of N.C. 55 East, Seven Springs, was injured in the fall that happened at 5:35 p.m. Sunday on N.C. 55 near Emmaus Church Road. He was treated and released from Wayne Memorial Hospital, a spokeswoman said. Neither the driver of the car nor the trucker stopped, the report said. Damage to the motorcycle was set at $1,000.
*Damages were estimated at $7,000 in a two-vehicle collision at 3 p.m. Sunday at N.C. 111 and Vann Smith Road, the Highway Patrol said. One driver, Martina Requena Reyes, 17, of Zion Church Road, Mount Olive, was charged with a yield violation at a stop sign. The car that she was driving collided with a southbound sport utility vehicle operated by William O. Boney, 56, of New Britain, Conn.
*Damages were estimated at $10,000 at 4:40 p.m. Saturday on Old Grantham Road near Ridge Drive, the Highway Patrol said. One driver, Nikki Gail Sandlin, 16, of Winston Drive, was charged with a safe-movement violation after she had pulled from a parking lot and collided with a westbound auto. The other driver was identified as Tracey Gamble, 24, of West Main Street, Mount Olive.
*A driver was injured and her car was demolished at 2:20 a.m. Saturday on Indian Springs Road near Park Road, the Highway Patrol said. Ronda T. Long, 42, of Stanley Chapel Church Road, Mount Olive, was released after emergency-room treatment. She was charged with exceeding a safe speed after her car ran off the right side and struck a utility pole. The car was valued at $4,000. Damage to the pole was set at $5,000.
*A driver was injured and the car that he was driving was demolished at 8:30 p.m. Friday on Hood Swamp Road near Peele Road, the Highway Patrol said. Moises Castaneda Torres, 17, of Breezy Point, LaGrange, was released after emergency-room treatment. He was charged with driving while impaired, reckless driving and driving after drinking under age. The car was valued at $7,000.
Moose Lodge theft
About $4,100 was stolen and three vending machines were damaged between Sunday and Monday at the Goldsboro Moose Lodge on West Mulberry Street, a Goldsboro police report said.
The thief had damaged a wall to get inside and then removed the money from an unlocked safe, the report said. An undetermined amount of money also was stolen from the vending machines. Damage was estimated at $10,000 to the vending machines and $5,000 to the walls.
Law-enforcement officers also are investigating these reports:
*A 12-inch slide compound saw was stolen between Friday and Monday from a construction site in the 100 block of Deans Lane, sheriff's deputies said. The saw, owned by Varona Construction Co. of Pikeville, was valued at $1,500.
*A ceiling fan was stolen and a window was damaged between June 22 and Monday at a home in the 700 block of East Pine Street, police said. The owner, C.A. Wilder of Stanford, Ky., put a $99 value on the fan and set damage at $300.
Missing
Two people were reported missing by relatives Monday to Wayne County authorities.
*Récharn Pierre Croom, 15, of 203 Carla Ann Drive, Pikeville, was described as black, 5-feet-4 and 110 pounds with black hair and brown eyes. When he was seen last at 6 p.m. Wednesday, he was wearing blue jeans, a beige plaid shirt and black tennis shoes.
*Wilbert Lee Campbell, 48, of 708 National Drive was described as black, 6-feet and 163 pounds with gray hair, a goatee, brown eyes and a medium complexion. When he was seen last at 4:30 p.m. Friday, he was wearing a white shirt, green pants, brown boots and a John Deere hat.
