Christmas parade set
Entries are being accepted for the Goldsboro Jaycees Christmas Parade.
The parade will be Saturday, Dec. 4, at 4 p.m. The theme for the parade is "Christmastime in Olde Goldsborough."
The deadline for entries is Nov. 20. Entry forms are available at the Wayne County Chamber of Commerce, by e-mailing the Jaycees at [email protected] or by calling 222-8280.
Entries are also being accepted on the Internet at http://home.nc.rr.com/goldsborojaycees/index_files/parade_information.html.

Snakes and lakes
The Cliffs of the Neuse State Park has rescheduled its Snakes Alive program, which was postponed due to Hurricane Charley.
The program will be Saturday at 2 p.m. at the amphitheater.
The Cliffs will also hold a Wet and Wild program Saturday at 7 p.m. at the lake. Participants will learn about the animals that live in the lake, and those attending should dress to get wet. Everyone must have shoes on at all times.

WCC library's new hours
Wayne Community College's library begins new hours this week for students and the public.
The library will be open from 7:45 a.m. until 8 p.m. Mondays and Thursdays; 7:45 a.m. to 5 p.m. Tuesdays and Wednesdays; and 7:45 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Fridays. It will be closed Saturdays and Sundays.
The library is on the third floor of the Wayne Learning Center on campus. For information about the services offered by the college's library, call 735-5151.
