KENANSVILLE -- The public is invited to come to the county administration building Wednesday to see how two types of voting machines the county is considering buying.
State law won't allow the use of punch card voting equipment after Jan. 1, 2006, and this gives Duplin County little more than a year to find new voting machines.
Two vendors will show their machines to the public twice, from 10 a.m. until noon and from 2 p.m. until 4 p.m., and have hands-on demonstrations and question-and-answer sessions.
The Duplin County Administration Building is at 224 Seminary St., Kenansville.
