Model-airplane show
The Wayne Miniature Aeronautics Club will hold its 14th annual model-airplane show Saturday from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. at its field on N.C. 581 north of Cherry Hospital.
The show is free to the public. Food and soft drinks will be available.
Airplanes featured in prior years included giant scale warbirds, civilian aircraft and aerobatic aircraft. Flying will begin at 9 a.m.
Grant workshop
A two-day grant-writing training session for members of faith-based and nonprofit organizations in Goldsboro will be held July 28 and 29.
It will be sponsored by the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development and will cover all aspects of applying for a grant.
It is free and will be held at the Greenleaf Vision of Faith Community Center at 2105 N. William St.

Bloodmobile
The Wayne County Chapter of the American Red Cross will hold a Bloodmobile on Thursday from 8 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at Goldsboro Milling Co. Donors will receive a coupon for a free car wash.
Royal Tea Rooms closing on Aug. 31
The Royal Tea Rooms is moving to Selma at the end of next month, says its owner.
The restaurant, owned and operated by Barbara Rice, will leave the Solomon Weil House at 204 W. Chestnut St. on Aug. 31.
The latest edition of the Downtown Goldsboro Development Corporation's newsletter reported that because of conflicts with the owner of the Weil House, Ms. Rice was "unable to continue serving her wonderful menu options at this location."
She has signed a contract to relocate in Selma, where she plans to have a smaller yet similar place.
