Museum events
The Wayne County Museum has several educational events coming up this month.
June 9 from noon to 3 p.m. will be "Old Toys of the Past," an event for ages 3-4. There will be a display of old-fashioned toys and the children will learn to make them. The same event will be held June 30 at the same time for ages 5-12.
June 16 from noon to 3 p.m. will be "Making Butter," an event for ages 5-12. They will learn how to make butter by using fresh cream and a butter churn. The same event will be held on June 23 at the same time for ages 3-4.
For reservations, call 734-5023. There will be an activity fee of $1 per child per activity. The fee is to cover the supply cost. The museum is at 116 N. William St. in Goldsboro.
Golden LEAF visit
The Golden LEAF Foundation's board of directors was scheduled to meet today at Goldsboro Milling Co. to consider various economic grants.
Bloodmobile
The Wayne County Chapter of the American Red Cross will have a Bloodmobile on Friday from 9 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. at the Seymour Johnson Air Force Base Community Center. Donors will receive a coupon for a free car wash.
Relay picture deadline
The News-Argus will stop accepting Wayne County Relay for Life donation pictures on Monday at 5 p.m.
Organizations with unpublished pictures of Relay for Life donations must get them to the newspaper office by Monday to have them included in a future edition. Pictures can be e-mailed.
Since January, the News-Argus has published hundreds of Relay donation pictures. Any donation of $300 or more is eligible for a picture.
The Relay for Life event was held May 14-15 at Eastern Wayne High School and raised over a half million dollars.
