Investigations
The Wayne County Sheriff's Office is investigating the following crimes:
*Someone reportedly stole a $400 guitar and its case from a church at 2091 Big Daddy Road, Pikeville. The guitar's owner, Derek Alan Seymour of N.C. 111 North of Goldsboro, said it was taken some time between practice sessions.
*Detectives are investigating a break-in that resulted in the theft of a $200 Playstation II game package. The resident, Mautin Ponce, told investigators the thieves damaged a window to get into the house, which is on Sleepy Creek Road, Dudley.
*Somebody stole $4,050 worth of masonry equipment from a job site on True Vine Road, Pikeville. The owner of the items is Regan Denise Roberts of Jays Masonry of 2707 Wildlife St., LaGrange.
*Someone stole jewelry valued at $1,050 from the kitchen counter in the home of Yolanda Latitia Christopher on Lien Lane.
The Goldsboro Police Department is investigating the following crimes:
*Someone stole a $1,292 vehicle tow dolly from Hawkins Service Center and U-Haul at 615 E. Ash St.
*Pedro Pascual of Central Heights Road reported that his 1997 Toyota Corolla was stolen while it was parked at his home Monday night. The car, valued at $7,000, was gone.
*The Pantry at 1818 N. Berkeley Blvd. reported the forgery of a $211.76 check belonging to William Carlisle. The report said a surveillance camera caught video of the person who used the check to purchase several cartons of cigarettes.
*Someone reportedly entered an unlocked 1995 cargo truck and took $810 worth of items including three hand trucks and some dog food while it was in the parking lot of Bartlett Milling Co. at 1006 N. George St.
*Employees at First Citizens Bank at 1900 N. Berkeley Blvd. said someone tried to break into the bank's ATM machine and did $150 worth of damage to its handle while trying to get into it using a torch of some kind.
*Antionette Brewington of Holly Street said someone took a Pro Sound Studio stereo system valued at $300 from an unlocked shed in her back yard.
*Wayne Uplift Association at 409 Hinson St. reported a break-in that resulted in the theft of a computer tower, keyboard and speaker, valued at $650.
Traffic accident
Goldsboro police cited Sarah Beth Loftus Faulkner of Piney Grove Road, LaGrange, with failure to reduce speed after a rear-end collision Tuesday morning on U.S. 70 West of Goldsboro. The 2001 Dodge Ms. Faulkner was driving hit the rear end of a 1997 Honda driven by Gerald Gail Schwind of Eleventh Street. He had slowed down to make a right turn. No one was injured. Damage to the Dodge was $1,300. Damage to the Honda was $4,000.
