Weekend in Wayne packed with things to do

It was a spring weekend and, as usual, things were going on in Wayne County.
Disabled American Veterans swapped war stories at a picnic in Goldsboro's Herman Park.
There was a rousing service at Willow Dale Cemetery honoring people killed in the War between the States.

At the Black Expo at Waynesbrough Historical Village, chess expert Dock Whitley of Fayetteville gives Tonenetta McKnabb a lesson.
At the Olde Waynesborough historic village, there was a Black Expo, a day of family fun and with gospel singing, games and tours of the village's old buildings.
Royal Rangers, boys from Wayne County churches, floated the Neuse River on canoes.
And there was more -- so much that all of it couldn't be photographed -- something for everybody.
