Black Expo rescheduled

The Black Expo -- A Glimpse of History event that was originally scheduled for last Saturday was postponed due to rain and has been rescheduled for May 22 from 9:30 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Ray Swinson, chairmen of the Old Waynesborough Commission's events committee, welcomes all the originally scheduled performers, vendors and exhibitors in addition to others who wanted to participate but were prevented from doing so because of conflicts with the original date.

The village is at 801 U.S. 117 S. Bypass in Goldsboro. For more information, call 731-1653 or e-mail [email protected].

Candy count

at museum

The Wayne County Museum will be the host of a candy count contest that is open to children in kindergarten through grade 5.

The count will be Saturday at 1 p.m. Participants must be there on time to receive a ticket and need to have at least one person with them who is at least 16 years old. That person must stay throughout the contest.

There will be a tour of the museum and then participants will guess how many candies are in a glass jar. The winner will be announced at 2 p.m., and prizes will be given. A candy count party will be held afterward.

For more information, call 734-5023. The museum is at 116 N. William St. in Goldsboro.
