Mount Olive College graduation set for May 8

MOUNT OLIVE -- Mount Olive College will graduate around 300 students at its 50th spring commencement Saturday, May 8.
Graduation exercises begin at 2 p.m. in College Hall.
The commencement speaker will be Robert J. Greczyn Jr., president and chief executive officer of Blue Cross Blue Shield of North Carolina, the state's largest health insurer, serving 3.1 million customers.
Creczyn earned a bachelor of arts degree in psychology from East Carolina University and a master's of public health from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, where he also completed the executive program in health care finance management.
Since arriving at Blue Cross Blue Shield in 1998, he has helped transform the company's culture.
He is chairman of Be Active North Carolina, a grassroots physical fitness campaign designed to help North Carolinians live healthy and active lives. He also is chairman of the UNC School of Public Health's "Carolina First" Campaign Committee and is on the board of directors of the N.C. Citizens for Business and Industry.
He is on the Kate B. Reynolds Charitable Trust Advisory Board, the board of the Triangle United Way and the N.C. Board of Science and Technology.
Before the graduation ceremony will be a commencement worship service at 10:30 a.m. in Rodgers Chapel.
