State education official to speak

MOUNT OLIVE -- Dr. Janice Davis, deputy state superintendent of education for the state Department of Public Instruction, will speak at this year's Braswell Lecture at Mount Olive College.
The event will take place at 7 p.m. Thursday in the Hennessee Room in the Lois K. Murphy Regional Center.
The lecture is held in memory of Jessie Dail Braswell, who taught in the Princeton public schools for 34 years.
Dr. Davis will address issues concerning public education in North Carolina.
