MOUNT OLIVE -- A designer from the state Division of Community Assistance has proposed several face-lifts for downtown.
Evangeline Ezeilo with the Small Town Development Program spoke to members of the Mount Olive Area Chamber of Commerce on Thursday morning at Mount Olive College. She presented some slides of downtown stores, showing alternate designs including things like facades on buildings and changes in the parking arrangements. Her suggestions included:
*Repaint the brick and put a cloth awning on the Connor Law Office on Center Street.
*Next is a rear entry to a downtown business. The brick is fading. Vines are growing up on the building, and a window is boarded with plywood. The recommendation is to repaint, clear the vines and add some clover for landscaping.
