Happy birthday, Bach!
If German organist and composer Johann Sebastian Bach were still alive today, he would be 319 years old on Sunday.
The composer would likely be pleased to see that his music lives on around the world and even in Goldsboro, where First Presbyterian Church will hold a Bach Birthday Concert.
The music will start Sunday at 5 p.m. at the church on East Ash Street.
Bach's "Well-Tempered Clavier" will be performed by Breanna Ponzi and Gina Ponzi, pianists, and Paul Cunningham, harpischordist.
A birthday reception will follow.
City: Plastic

Goldsboro citizens will soon be able to pay their water bills, or any other city bill, with credit cards, but it will cost them a little bit more.
The City Council decided Monday to give residents the option of plastic. Any processing fee, though, would have to be paid by the customer. This is the fee that credit card companies charge the seller.
"We can't pay the processing fee, because it would reduce the amount of the bill," City Manager Richard Slozak explained. "If someone has a $50 water bill, they can't just pay $48.25 by using a credit card."
All departments are not yet ready to implement the new system. Slozak said the Inspections Department had been accepting credit card payments for lower-priced items, such as plumbing or electrical permits.
The city will announce to the public when it's ready to offer the new service.
Revised admission
Wayne Community Concerts announces a revised admission policy for the Richard Glazier concert Friday night.
For people who do not have season subscriptions, admission will be $15. If they prefer, they can buy a 2004-05 season subscription for $40 and be admitted free on Friday.
The concert will be held at 7:30 p.m. at Wayne Community College. Information: 736-3300.
