The Wayne County Sheriff's Office has released few details on murder charges filed Friday in the death of a 4-month-old baby.
On Friday, the office charged Timothy Ray Carmon, 35, of 411 Outlaw Road, with murdering the child.
Sheriff's officers said they could not release the cause of the child's death. That information was at the medical examiner's office in Chapel Hill. The medical examiner who performed the autopsy was out of the office until Monday.
The baby, Kalandra Rene Carmon, died Feb. 15. She was the daughter of Timothy and Sandra Carmon and had been taken to Wayne Memorial Hospital on Feb. 13. She was later airlifted to Pitt Memorial Hospital in Greenville. The nature of her medical condition has not been released.
The arresting officers were Detective Sgts. Tony Morris and Tammy Odom.
Timothy Carmon is being held in the Wayne County Jail without bond.
