Drug charges
Two men from Goldsboro were arrested Thursday by the Goldsboro-Wayne County Drug Squad and charged with numerous felony drug violations in their homes.
Thomas C. Griffin, 24, of Bobwhite Lane was charged with one count each of possession with intent to sell and deliver marijuana and possession with intent to sell and deliver steroids and two counts of maintaining a dwelling for the purpose of keeping and selling illegal drugs. He was placed in the Wayne County Jail in lieu of a $5,000 secured bond.
Desmond Jacob Hagans, 26, of East Walnut Street was charged with possession with intent to sell and deliver eight grams of marijuana and maintaining a dwelling for the purpose of keeping and selling marijuana. He was jailed in lieu of a $2,500 secured bond.
A third Goldsboro man was arrested Thursday by Goldsboro police on Beal Street and charged with a felony drug violation. Mark Mobil, 22, of Walnut Street was charged with possession with intent to sell and deliver marijuana and resisting arrest. He was jailed in lieu of a $2,500 secured bond.
Two hurt in wrecks
Two people were injured and damages were estimated at $16,100 in four recent traffic collisions in Wayne County, officers reported.
*A driver was injured in a two-car collision at 1:40 p.m. Thursday at South Slocumb Street and Olivia Lane, Goldsboro police said. Horace Daniel Thompson Jr., 50, of Devereaux Street was treated and released from Wayne Memorial Hospital. The other driver, Angelique L. Jordan-Brown, 21, of Sheridan Forest Road, was charged with a stoplight violation and no operator's license. Her northbound car collided with Thompson's westbound auto, police said. Damages were put at $1,100.
*A driver was injured and his pickup was demolished in a wreck at 11:15 p.m. Wednesday on Genoa Road near Old Mount Olive Road, the Highway Patrol said. Jay Alan Harrell, 25, of Kevin Drive was released after emergency-room treatment. He was charged with suspicion of driving while impaired after the pickup ran off the right side, struck a ditch and overturned. The truck was valued at $4,000.
*Damage was estimated at $5,000 in a one-vehicle wreck at 3:15 a.m. Monday on Race Track Road near Guy Smith Road, the Highway Patrol said. The driver fled after the van ran off the left side, struck a ditch and overturned. The van was registered to Aaron Tirado Gonzalez of Kinston.
*Damage was estimated at more than $6,000 in two-vehicle, hit-and-run collision at 9:55 p.m. Sunday at U.S. 70 and Beston Road, the Highway Patrol said. An eastbound car driven by Terry Kathleen Hannah, 56, of Lang Skinner Road, LaGrange, collided with a southbound vehicle. The unknown vehicle fled.
Investigations
Wayne County law-enforcement officers are investigating these reports:
*About $2,652 worth of property was stolen between Jan. 20 and Thursday after a lock was cut from a rental unit at A-1 Mini Storage at 2052 U.S. 117 South, sheriff's deputies said. The renter, Darrell Wade Marcell of Goldsboro, reported the theft of a car stereo with a DVD player and two television screens, a collectible sword set, a king-sized mattress, a computer chair, four remote controls and loose change.
*A white and orange Bob-Cat front-end loader was stolen between Tuesday and Thursday from behind Grace Homes at 5423 U.S. 70 West, deputies said. The front-end loader, owned by Tri Mason Inc. of Farmville, was valued at $30,000.
*A DVD-video cassette player combination and a receiver and speakers were stolen Thursday after a window was broken at a home in the 900 block of McDaniel Avenue, Goldsboro police said. The resident, Clarence Henry Sample, estimated his property's value at $988 and damage at $100.
Kitchen fire
Unattended cooking was blamed Thursday for a small fire that caused about $200 in damages at an apartment at 1505 S. John St., according to a Goldsboro Fire Department report. No one was injured.
Sixteen firefighters answered the 5:41 p.m. call with three engines, a ladder and a command car and needed about 30 minutes to put out the fire with an extinguisher, ventilate the home and finish salvage work.
The apartment building, owned by Keen Plumbing Co. of Goldsboro, was valued at $100,000. The contents in the Lanise Bass home were valued at $15,000.
Missing
Two people have been reported missing to Goldsboro police.
*Jasmin Renea Armwood, 16, of Goldsboro was described as black, 5-feet-7 and 190 pounds with black hair and brown eyes. She was seen last at 1 a.m. Dec. 21 at a Waffle House restaurant in Goldsboro. She and a girlfriend left with four black men in a newer-model blue GMC truck. Ms. Armwood may be in Florida or New York. She is wanted for failure to appear in court to answer charges.
*Derrick Anthony Moore, 42, of 609 S. Pineview Ave. was described as black, 6-feet-4 and 220 pounds with black hair, brown eyes and a medium complexion. When he was seen last at 8:30 p.m. Monday, he was wearing a rust-colored sweatshirt, black pants, white tennis shoes, a black leather coat and a blue Yankees cap.
Anyone with information on the location of either person was asked to call police at 736-4933.
