To our readers:
Starting Monday, the Goldsboro News-Argus site on the Internet -- www.newsargus.com -- will take on a new look and offer new features to its visitors.
Readers will be able to search the newspaper's archives, which are now beginning to accumulate. This has been the number one request of people who visit the site.
The new site will also be easier to navigate. Improvements will include:
*There will be links to the site's most popular sections in a row of buttons on the top of the page. Clicking on them should take the user to the front page of that section from any page in the site.
*A blue status bar under the row of buttons should indicate which page the reader is viewing.
*A list of links under the status bar will allow readers to move directly to the next or previous stories without returning to the main index.
*Under the search button on the right-hand side of the page, there will be a link to "Browse Archives." From that link, visitors will be able to look at a list of the most recent local stories and also browse stories by month. The stories are now beginning to accumulate for the archives. In time they will be an invaluable resource for researchers.
The site will include pictures in obituaries and wedding notices if the pictures were included in the print edition of the News-Argus.
The newspaper's aim is to maintain www.newsargus.com as the primary source of information about Wayne County.
