A joyous Christmas
Merry Christmas to all, from each of us here at the Goldsboro News-Argus.
It seems snow is in the forecast for next weekend, a week after Christmas and just two weeks after similar forecasts fell short reaching our area by a more than a few miles.
Not that it would have stuck then anyway, given the warm temperatures preceding the precipitation.
But alas, no white Christmas will be had in Wayne County. Still, maybe 2017 will be blanketed in snow just in time to melt away with it all of the negativity that seemed to abound these last 12 months. We sure could use a clean slate in 2018.
We won't belabor that point though, getting into specifics would only enrage folks -- we're betting the troves of those who would disagree with our list of reasons would be matched in number and in sentiment by those who might nod along with us -- and there has already been too much of that for there to be any further angst squeezed into the last few remaining days of the year.
And so, a holiday toast instead: Here's to lots of booty under the tree, warm hearths, hearts and embraces for all, and to any who are lacking, we sign off with the immortal words of the redeemable character Frank Cross in the indispensable holiday film classic "Scrooged" -- put a little love in your heart.
