Building: City and county are constantly growing
Goldsboro and Wayne County residents can boast a little right now. Both the city and the county are experiencing a period of growth, with new buildings going up almost everywhere you look.
Tonight, the City Council will hear a proposal regarding a mixed-use residential and commercial property for South Center Street. A Virginia developer is interested in building such a structure, and the public is invited to come and hear about the idea.
Meanwhile, the council will also hear about plans for a new Herman Park Center, which would be designed by the same company that is responsible for the design of the new Maxwell Regional Agricultural and Convention Center.
The new buildings, both public and private, bespeak a local economy that is sound and leaders in both the public and private sector who see big things on the horizon for Goldsboro and Wayne.
The city and the county have their problems. But, by and large, this is a time of growth for both, and we have the wise planning of our leaders to thank for much of it. That, and the willingness of the public to invest in the future.
