Support: Community should talk about Monday's events
There should be more events like Thursday's prayer service at First Baptist Church.
Gathering together as a community during times like these is critical -- both for those who suffered the trauma and for those who want to be there for them, but who are not sure how.
We are likely not to ever really understand the reasons behind Monday's horrible events. And we probably won't ever be able to get the images out of our minds.
And that task of moving forward will be even harder -- and the recovery longer -- for those who were there on campus.
So as we prepare for the next steps and deal with the fact that violence came to our community, we need to be patient with each other and to offer a shoulder if we can.
Coming together as a community is how we can move forward. And that, fortunately, is one of Wayne County's strengths.
