Buy American: Here’s solution to toy scare
It really is not all that hard a problem to solve.
It’s the old adage — you get what you pay for.
Since it is becoming increasingly clear that products that are manufactured cheaply in China come to the U.S. with some pretty serious problems, wouldn’t the solution be to create more factories in countries where there are more stringent safety guidelines?
But how do you make a toy manufacturer see that moving its operations is the best way to make money because buyers will be able to trust your products?
Simple really. Buy American this Christmas.
It only takes a minute to look inside a garment label or on a toy box to make sure you are getting a product manufactured here.
And if retailers and manufacturers see you are looking for labels and at manufacturing locations, they just might start stocking those types of products.
It is not a perfect solution, but it might mean you won’t have to send your child’s favorite Christmas present back to the store in early January
It might be time to start thinking more about quality. Not only is it often a better investment, in the case of toys, it might be less dangerous.
